La Travesia Community Library

La Travesia is a 3-room school building located in the Santa Marianita community.  The poverty levels of this area require that the mothers of the community to be in charge of the maintenance of the school, as well as providing school supplies (for students AND teachers), lunches, and uniforms for their children.

In 2023, You & Us for Manta's Children formed the La Travesia Community Library as a resource to support the community through the services outlined below. Contributions to this program are desperately needed to strengthen infrastructure such as electricity and WiFI, as well as to ensure enough learning supplies such as books, pens, paper, and art supplies are available for every student.
